Don't throw away the Angel.

Dear John,

If you decide you don't want this angel, please return it to me. I want you to have it, it was our very first Angel since 1976 and I don't want it thrown away.

Love,
Mom

Note that accompanied a plastic angel she left for me, to put atop my Christmas tree in my first apartment. There was also a post-it note stuck to the Angel's chest that said "Return to Mom," just in case I missed the first note.

I am 31 years old and grew up on Long Island. I attended a very strict Catholic High School, but not by choice. I didn't get along too well with my Mom when I was younger, but I always loved her very much. This blog is respectfully dedicated to one of the most unique, eccentric women I have ever known. And did I mention talented? My Mom could write a note on ANYTHING: Post-Its, notepads, even paper towels! Thanks for reading!
